Setting Backup Priorities (Which Circuits Stay On During Outages)

Decide What Matters When the Grid Goes Down Kora allows you to define exactly which circuits remain powered during an outage. This ensures critical loads stay online longer.

How Backup Priorities Work

  • Circuits are assigned priority levels.

  • During outages, Kora sheds lower-priority loads first.

  • Changes take effect immediately.

Setting Priorities

  1. Open the Kora app.

  2. Go to Backup Settings → Circuit Priorities.

  3. Assign each circuit:

    • Critical (medical devices, refrigeration)

    • Important (lighting, internet)

    • Non-Essential (EV chargers, pools)

  4. Save your configuration.

During an Outage

  • The app displays remaining runtime.

  • You can manually turn circuits on or off in real time.

  • Priority logic continues automatically in the background.

Best Practices

  • Review priorities seasonally.

  • Avoid marking all circuits as Critical.

  • Test backup behavior before storm season.
