Code Reference (NEC)

  • NEC 702 – Optional Standby Systems

  • NEC 705 – Interaction with distributed generation

  • NEC 230 / 225 – Service vs feeder distinctions

Partial-Home Backup

  • Only selected circuits backed up

  • Longer runtime for critical loads

  • Common for retrofits or limited battery capacity

Whole-Home Backup

  • All circuits backed up

  • Requires sufficient battery and inverter capacity

  • Load shedding handled dynamically by Kora

Installer Responsibility

  • Verify inverter output limits to avoid oversizing critical circuits

  • Clearly label backed-up circuits

  • Confirm startup surge compatibility

  • Test outage behavior during commissioning
